I see no risk in bringing in Gomez as a tryout. A Center who can carry the puck into the zone and pass is a need for the NJD.

Minor point: Gionta is not a natural Center instead he was primarily a winger before playing in the NHL.

Not sure that it's necessary to mention Gomez and Cammaleri in the same sentence. Just not relevant information at this point.

If Gomer can still pass the puck I'd take him. Kaberle seems unneccessary unless he is trying to just get signed and then given to Vegas in the expansion draft.

Team Czech is not content with just Havlat, Jagr, Elias, Zidlicky etc.

I think it's reaching to look at Gomez with Cammy in the past, but I do think it's zero risk move. I doubt he can add much if anything in the NHL at this point, but there is a chance that he can come in and be a serviceable vet utility guy on a small contract.

The kids should be in the AHL. After this year we'll have a lot of guys who will have 1 year left on their contract and maybe some can be traded, with some cap retained maybe.

The Devils have 2 Forward prospects that might start the season in the AHL: Boucher and Matteau. Both are wingers and neither will not be impacted by the Gomez tryout.

Josefson has shown nothing in the NHL so far that he is a 3C.

I get it's a tryout, but it's certainly within Lou's senility to sign these tools to 2-3 year deals.

Can't tell what you're getting at with this. Kevin Hayes was basically a player the Rangers got for free. Also, it's not like the team that drafted him just refused to sign him. You'd be thrilled if the he and the Devils had come to an agreement.

You can say that now, after the fact. And for the record his dad, is indeed, a scumbag. But Kevin Hayes is a versatile forward who adds a little depth to weakened prospect.
